no brainer for weddings

Let's review - 3x 2.8 mid-zoom with IS & 2000+ MTF numbers

Why are you even debating this?

I'm simply not a good enough photographer to make primes work at weddings for anything but portraits + specialty work (fisheye & macro). Otherwise, I have to have the flexibility of zoom and 80% of my reportage is zoom based. Besides, there's few wide primes that can do weddings on a EFS mount, and none that have 2000 MTF numbers.

I will only be disappointed if the color rendition is noticeable inferior to the 17-40 ... which I doubt it will be.

I'm looking forward to wearing out the 17-55 and making a lot of money with it.
