You hit on an important point, Edward. I mostly used the 85/1.4, but it was a struggle at times. It doesn't focus fast enough to be a reliable event lens. I missed dozens of shots of people in motion, because in "S" focus mode, the camera won't trip the shutter without an AF lock.

The photogs of old could get by with primes because they were mostly taking posed formals. For PJ style money shots, af-s is essential.

...whenever I think of great wedding pictures I remember the one you posted where the bride and groom are dancing and are in color and the rest of the scene is in B&W. love that shot!!
