R1: Playing with infra-red


I finally tested my R1 with infra-red. A simple cardboard ring held the 49mm filter in place nicely:

This is the middle shot (0EV) of a bracket series with the Hoya R72 filter: ISO 160; 1s; f4:

This is is the middle shot (0EV) of the same target without filters: ISO 160; 1/400s; f4:

This image is the result of pasting the green channel of the IR shot on the brightness channel (LAB) of the normal shot, and then applying a hue shift:

I used the green channel because the red channel had too much contrast.

Please comment this experiment.
