D200 JPEG "optimal quality" vs "size priority"

I am planning an 18 days trip into Marocco this month with my D200 (and 18-200 VR zoom). I will take a pocketsize 20 Giga photoharddisk with me, but filesizes are important. My 20 Giga harddisk will only take 780 RAW+JPEG fine pictures. That's why I will also shoot only JPEG's when IQ is not too critical. On the 20 Giga harddisk, JPEG fine with "size priority" allows me 3350 pictures, JPEG fine with "optimal quality" allows me "only" 2240 pictures. This is a huge difference and that's why I am asking if anybody on this forum has ever made an Image Quality comparision between JPEG "size priority" and JPEG "optimal quality". Thanks for your input.
