I think I killed my 300D

After nearly two years, several countries, and 20,000 exposures, it looks like I killed my 300D.

I'm almost rather embarrassed to say how. I was trying to take some pictures of the sea with a wide-angle lens. So I got down real low and close to the water and then an unexpectedly large wave crashed over the camera. After profusely swearing for a couple of minutes, I dried it off as much as I could, but it won't power on.

Is there any possible way to salvage it, perhaps by disassembling it and drying it out more? Or is it permanently fried and I should take this as some sort of divine intervention to get me to upgrade to an XT or 30D?
