Dell 20% off Canons

I placed my order from Dell for the S40 at 20% off (see my previous posting on how to do this). No tax and no shipping charges. I received an e-mail telling me that it was shipped out with FedEx 11/6! (Yes, I am aware that Dell's small business dept. charges a restocking fee, if the camera is returned for any reason other than defect.) I've ordered three cameras in the past from Dell and have always been completely satisfied, except for the first camera which arrived about a month late. However, Nikon simply had not released the camera. The G2, the S110, and the S300 are also on sale. I saw nothing about the S30.

Hi Harv,

Where are you having them ship the camera? in NY state, Dell's website seems to be charing tax. I'd love to avoid the tax. Any thoughts?

I ordered it yesterday (Nov 6), and got it this morning from Dell... Fast! Too bad they charged me $11 for shipping when I added the 256mb Kingston memory to the order. If I didn't order the memory, no shipping!

For some reason, Dell charges taxes for all states that have state tax... It still worked out cheaper, so I guess it doesn't matter too much.

I went to Dell's small business site, only saw $899 price for G2. Wondering where the 20% is. Could you post that URL here, pls?

I followed your link and I ordered my Canon S40 from Dell yesterday with the 20% off and FREE overnight shipping. I ordered it at 2:00 EST and it was delivered about an hour ago.

I don't know how did you get tax free and free shipping because I did order the G2 and 256MB Kingston CF on 11/06 through techbargains coupon for small business like you. The order confirmation did not list the tax, then a second email order information they charged me $65 tax and $9 2nd day shipping. And the worst thing is the CF was shipped 2nd day FedEx and just received it today but the camera shipped UPS ground and sched to arrive Tuesday 11/13. I'm very pissed and going to return it because it's not a good deal after tax.

Calling Dell is getting nowhere and I have to deal with them though email. Dell is getting worse.

My purchase was not tax free. But shipping was free. I just selected overnight and it came up with a cost of $0. I believe that you were charged shipping due to the CF card.
