I could live with it too, but the 20D sensor isn't a real 8Mp sensor. Its has only 2 million full color sensors. The missing 6 million sensors are interpolated from the RGBG channels and therefore often misrepresent the truth, and that makes the sensor much less accurate than it could be.

Using a Bayer filter leads to destruction of detail what in turn makes the images it produces soft, particularly in small detail like grass or trees at the horizon.

What I'm saying is that 8 million full color sensor sites on an APS-S size chip is really something else than what we have now and would improve resolution tremendously without introducing any more noise or reduction of dynamic range.
