Re: help me out with pixel pitch

You definately sound like you know what you're talking about, so help me out with the logistics of it:

If a lens has a maximum capability of resolution, won't that maximum determine a point where increasing sensor resolution becomes useless?

In other words, if a lens can only produce a portion of an image accurately onto a 5 micron square, why would it matter if there is 1 pixel or 5 pixels sitting there ready to sense it? The result of more pixels, in this case, would be similar to just interpolating, right? Either way, the lens has reached its limit of "providing information", and trying to go beyond that is just guesswork. Is this correct?

Thanks for trying to help me understand this!
