Hello,

My DSC-P1's battery is not being charged fully. On the battery indicator, it gives me "battery full" message, but when I unplug the charger, battery is dead after 10 minutes. The camera is only used a few times. Any ideas?

Thanx

Hi! O posted this problem in the forum about 15 months back when I was experiencing it with my F505 camera. Basically the F505 and the P1 use the same Info Lithium NPFS11 batteries. I think there is a manufacturing defect with these batteries and they don't last as long as SONY claims they last. I was told by SONY Malaysia that these batteries will last about 500 cycles but mine only lasted 20 to 25 at the most.

I have tried everything in this forum, including discharging them slowly with a resistor and rechsrging them but nothing works. I have 3 cells that have all experienced the same problem.

I think we should all get together and demand a refund from SONY!!!
I bought 2 more cells recently and they work perfectly ... for now at least.

One of my friends experienced the same kind of problem with his P1.
It may be a problem linked to the HW (P1 or battery).

The only thing I know is that we managed to charge successfully the "problematic" battery using my external sony charger (the one provided with the 505V). It then worked perfectly with the P1.
May be you can try to buy an external charger to solve your problem?
