It may not be that hard to do

First off, this is my first ever post at this forum. Amateur photographer, had been a P&S (mostly set to "manual") Fuji user for about 8 years now. Seriously considering jumping into the Canon 3xD wagon.

If the main sensor COULD overheat by doing a realtime preview, that is a risk I would not be willing to take. But how much more would it cost to include a second, lower resolution, sensor inside the OVF path? After all, you would need it mostly to composite the frame when the camera is in a weird position, and you can certainly compose at lower resolution.

Manual focusing would be a total new issue, but I can't figure myself or anybody else standing on his toes inside a crouded room, holding the camera with his arms fully extended upward (to get the best extreme point of view) and trying to manually focus at the same time... that would be a burlesque show on it' s own.
