Re: typically....

It's the whole statement:

...when I see someone ask for a live preview on a DSLR, they are point & shooters, who have no concept as to what a DSLR operates like, and what they may or may not want....totally driven by inexperienced newbies to the camera world.

Definitely a presumptuous putdown on ANYONE who asks for a live preview on a DSLR. They ar these lowly P&S shooters who don't know what a DSLR operates like (but I do). They don't know what they may or may not want. But I know what they want. Now how does he know ALL that. But it makes him a MR. BIG DSLR USER.

See I said I was starting to read "between the lines" too.

i agree with you, that is a bit harsh, but i think that is just a
stab on the side but is not the main point of his post (not that
this makes it acceptable)....

but do you agree with the (or specifically my) general point, with
that particular statement excluded?

not quite sure why people is so sensitive and precious about a
rather innocent (i thought anyway) comment/observation that CHIA
and Mark B made.....

Not sensitive to comments about dSLRs or any camera. Just sensitive
when people make presumptuous statements, including name-calling
and put-downs, that have no factual support and show a bias. Go
back and read the first offending statement and see for yourself.
