It's a very complicated design for such a small benefit. I'm sure the price will go up too because of an extra CCD. IMO this isn't an optimal design for live preview on SLR. First it increases the cost and complexity of the viewfinder tunnel. Secondly it prevents the use of prism. With mirrors the light transmission is much lower. With that cheap CCD and the current LCD technology, the usability of this preview is still nowhere near proper OVF. I'd recommend ZigView over this new system to anyone who needs vari-angle LCD on his/her DSLR.

Although there are many drawbacks to this new system, I guess Canon would follow suit with their entry level DSLR very soon because a lot of potential buyers for low end DSLR are coming from p/s world. These people prefer live preview, so there will be a bigger market for this kind of cameras. From 20D upwards, I assume(wish) Canon would stick with the traditional design.
