In a hazy evening … (10 pics F11)

I revisited the Wanchai Waterfront to take some wide shots of the city, trying out the F11’s long exposures. Nothing original or creative, but this is a series my biased audience (my wife) and I both enjoy a lot. Hope you’ll enjoy too.

Just a few notes:

1. Shutter Priority Mode was used here. I noticed that as the F11’s aperture can’t go smaller than F8, a longer exposure than 3s would overexpose the brighter parts of these night scenes.

2. There was a heavy haze blurring the cityscape in the distance. Yet, I decided to retain these hazy images and made not attempt to “enhance” them in PP.

3. I took similar shots with the F10 in July last year, an interesting comparison: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1012&message=14395191

1. the sun set (I) @ F5.6, 1s, ISO 80, EV -1.3

2. the sun set (II) @ F6.4, 1.5s, ISO 80, EV -1.7

3. the night fell (I) @ F7.1, 2.5s, ISO 80, EV -2

4. the night fell (II) @ F6.4, 2s, ISO 80, EV -2

5. the night fell (III) @ F8, 2s, ISO 80, EV -1.7

6. ifc and others (I) @ F5.6, 2s, ISO 80, EV -2

7. ifc and others (II) @ F6.4, 2s, ISO 80, EV -2

8. strolling back @ F8, 2s, ISO 80, EV -1.7

9. trails of light @ F8, 0.77s, ISO 80, EV -1.7

10. I’m not alone @ F3.2, 1.3s, ISO 80, EV -1

Comments and advice much appreciated.

Best regards,
HP
