Theres' no need to do that, the hex key is long and once mated with the hole in the cam it is easy to remember the starting position, but as you say further on it is not very important.

I think that moving it back to the original position is not likely
to occur if the focus was off but I know it is a safer that way.

Correct, I doubt anyone will want to put it back the way it was.
