Re: Tamron 90mm Macro as a portrait/tele lens?

Hi Phil,

I have the non-Di version of this lens. It has a focus delimiter, that either keeps it in the tele/portrait range or in the macro range.

  • tele/portrait range: approx 43cm to infinite, focus ring turns 1/4.

  • macro range: 29cm to approx 41cm, focus ring turns almost 1/2.

Without use of the delimiter the focus ring may turn 3/4 when searching for focus, with just 1/4, which makes it much faster. It snaps to focus nicely. And the 43cm still corresponds to a magnification of 1:3, which my be enough for flower macros.

I expect the Di version to be similar?

hth, Wim
