Good morning everyone. I'm still alive, but took the night off and got away from this computer (seems I live in front of this thing). I too canceled my order with eDigital. When the news about the great buy at Dell came up, I canceled and ordered from Dell. I fell a little better about ordering from them. I canceled via an email response to eDigital's order confirmation and heard nothing from them. When I did a followup on the order, it just had a note on it saying that the order had been "rejected." That's fine....as long as I know it's done. Now I'll just patiently (and happily) wait to hear from Dell.

I also tried the eDigitalMegaStore, but had to give up, they do not accept international credit card, even being Amex. So I ordered at best4digital, last thursday. They called me twice since then, to "confirm my order", but actually they were trying to sell accessories. On the first call, the salesman said they had 20 cameras already sold and were waiting for more. The second to call claims they have it, but didn't give me a track number yet...

Nothing happen yet, but had salesguy push bunch of accessories - they all offer UV filter saying that camera will not produce good pictures without it - all refer to Consumer Reports.
I had funny sales talk with him - he offered UV kit for 99 bucks; I refused. He then threw in 32Mb card + (tripod or case) + adapter for lenses....I refused
I wanted him to throw in tripod AND case...oh well.
btw, he referred me to cellularconnection.com - their other site; notice that both phone numbers are the same. These folks operate from NJ, so I had to ship camera to NY to my friend - otherwise 40 bucks tax....he said they ship from California, so no pickup available..
I'll wait for a day or so and will probably wait until decent sellers will finally have it for good price; it's pretty much impossible to find honest dealer for these prices (you get what you pay for, huh...)

stock... it happened after 5 days of calls back and forth (sport
interest, really) to figure out whether order has been shipped or
not...
Most weirdest/awful experience.
Purchased camera from best4digital.com - 687 + 28
shipping...called before and checked - they claim to have camera in
stock; we'll see...

I am afraid you have already started to "get something" and they
did not even buy you dinner first
Next morning (today), I find out that price actually dropped from
$749 to $689; called them and CSR apologized and told me that yes,
indeed, there was a change in the price and total charge will be
reduced respectively. He also confirmed that my order information
on shopping.yahoo.com will be updated as well.
So far, nothing happened. I did not receive any email from them
(other than the one I got the very first time - thanking me for my
order..) and order still says "rejected" on shopping.yahoo.com; my
credit card is not charged yet (as far as I can tell from CC web
site).
I'll keep everyone posted on the progress. They are located in New
York, 40 minutes drive from me. Hopefully, I'll get something

research and reading of all the reviews and I had narrowed my
choices down to three when I read the review on the G2 and found
this forum through that review. That's what sold me on the G2.
I'm VERY anxious to get it and see what I can do with it. Now,
after reading all the posts about the problems with the new
cameras, I'm fretting about that. You know how we have these
"great expectations...."

How about bait and switch? i thought this was illegal!
i placed an order with zerodelivery,then had to hunt them down
via e-mail,phone calls. a few days later the salesman gives me the
total for an s-110 shipped ground.He says "if you purchase two
accessories at thirty percent off i'll upgrade your GRAY MARKET
camera to the usa version"--i told them to forget it altogether.
Whats with these New York on-line shops!!!!??? this happened
at more than one place--these guys are hard core manipulators
and punk hustlers.i dont think the on line shopping experience
should be so ugly.Is anything being done to stop this???

I just got my camera from edigitalmegastore. I ordered the lens filter kits, wide/telephoto/close range lenses, and a 128 mb cf card. It came with software, manuals, 32 mb cf card, battery, a/c power source, tv cables, usb cables. I've only used it once, but it looks and feels very nice indeed!

Ok, here is another update (it's getting funnier and funnier)....
After a while, I decided to check up on the order; I sent an email to best4digital guys - asking them what's up and requesting to cancel an order should they happen to be out of stock; I've received an email that told me that cameras will be available 4 to 6 weeks from now.
That's it; the end of story. I'm over and out. Will wait till decent retailers will start selling the camera at decent price. These scumbags and idiots (I cannot find another word for these so called "retailers") deserve bankrupcy more than any NASDAQ company I've ever invested in...

Last (and final) update.
I received my camera from NormanCamera.com - for $870 including 2 day UPS shipping. I have used my AMEX Blue and will do price match with EDMS or some other crappy place selling overpriced accessories.
I recommend NC - very, very professional people.
