Dynax 5D Review

From: "FOTO Cult" - October 2005 (Italian Magazine)

1 - Stabilized CCD
2 - Ergonomic
3 - Essential functions
4 - Easy to use
5 - Displayed data
6 - Optimal resolution
7 - Color rendition
8 - Extensive ISO range
9 - Low ISO-Noise

1 - ISO-Noise reduction digital filter, reduces sharpness too, from 200 to 3200 ISO
2 - No Syncro PC
3 - Artifacts are generated during RAW to JPEG conversion*
4 - A little bit of rumor (up to 10 pixels) during long exposures**
5 - Syncro Flash only 1/125 with AS on*
6 - Moirè in Jpeg with dense and regular textures* 7 - Burst coul be better

notes (clarified reading the whole review):

  • with Dimage Master Lite

in a hot day
and the built in flash

Anyway better than 7D (The reviewer says that this was the bigest problem of the 7D)
both buffer size and frames per second

Dynax 5D was a surprise for the reviewer: quite the same as the 7D and a very good price.

Many and easy functions makes it complete and a very good camera for both beginners and professionals.

He doesn't like only the digital noise reduction filter that reduces sharpness even at 200 ISO, he would prefer to have a sharper 200 ISO, and the filter that starts working from 400 ISO.

Anyway, a positive review.

PS: sorry for my english....
