Does anyone know if the DPS-9000 power pack works with the 1st DS?

Just got a reply from DigiPower regarding the compatability of DPS-9000 and DS. Here is the email.

I would be concerned about leaving right side door open for the power connection and loose wire between the power pack and DS. But that's just me

I believe many people uses Rechargeable CR-V3 with success. I use Rechargeable CR-V3 and I like it. In my experience I get more shots out of Rechargeable CR-V3 than NiMHs.

I get around 900 or more shots with Rechargeable CR-V3 while I get 200 - 600 shots from NiMH depends on how long NiMHs were sitting the after charge.

I would prefer a battery grip, but for emergency use the 9000 will do fine. I don't like the door open either.

Old thread, back from the dead, I know. A search revealed this question asked many times and this is the only thread with someone successfuly using the DPS-9000 on a Pentax camera. My particular interest is with the DL. What cable is working with your cam??
