Re: how do you know?

Daniella, I have followed your debate about RAW v JPG with interest and no, for me JPG is a poor cousin. I regularly compare both results by shooting RAW + JPG but will continue to use RAW. The fact that you are using ZoomBrowser, IMO the most basic and probably the worst converter out there, may have something to do with your preference.

I print a large number of my photos A4 or A3 size and for me RAW converted to a 16 bit/ch TIFF wins hands down.

I am surprised that RSE gives you poor colours. I only shoot RAW
and used it originally on the G6, then the Pro1 and now on the 350D
and really can't fault it. The workflow is quick and simple. In
addition it gives much better shadow detail and noise control than
any of the others and I have tried and retried them all. I always
come back to RSE.

how do you know you're getting the best colour balance if you shoot
only raw and only with RSE? try extracting the .jpg from the raw
with the Zoom Browswer and RAW Image Task program and try comparing
both for colours.
