Monsters on the balcony (not for the fainthearted)

I'm watching with interest the development of the Ladybug larvae in my aphid farm (for those who have seen some of my macros a familiar sight). Now they turn out to be bloodthirsty monters that hunt down all my aphids! Thought it would be nice to share some details about these fellows.

This is on the 4th of august, the day that they hatched form their eggs. You can still see the white eggshells on the right of them. Tiny and not looking all that mean to me.

This one is on the 5th and they have swarmed out across the plant to start looking for food.........

And finally the ones from today (16th). The have grown enormously and dwarf my aphids in size.

They get the juices certainly flowing!

Hopefully to be continued.....

Mike
