Consider the SD9

Hi I am lookign for the best picture possible. Looking for high
quality colors, sharp detail ect.
I am between the SD10 and the Kodak 14N.
SD10 is 10 Meg while the 14N is 14 Meg.
Is there more differences besides size ??
How about colors, sharpness, contrasts ?
Which would give the best outdoor photo, landscape, macro, possible
wildlife photos ?

If you are interested in ISO 100 wildlife/landscape, I would choose the SD9 over both the SD10 and Kodak 14s. At ISO 100 the SD9 will slightly outperform the SD10 due to no microlenses, and both sense slightly more full color pixels than the Kodak 14's.

Since the Kodaks interpolate (upscale) to 14MP by default and the Sigmas don't, you should compare Sigma images interpolated to 14MP using a high quality adaptive interpolator (not SPP). Here is an SD9 reference interpolated to 14MP using s-spline:

Image quality is far from perfect when you interpolate the SD9's 3.43M RGB triples up to 14MP, but the Kodak runs into similar problems interpolaing it's 3.35M RGB triples up to 14MP:

Today a 10.3MP SD9 body sells for $450 - $700 new, a standout buy.

Another thing to consider is Full Frame vs the 1.7 APS crop. The SDs concentrate all of their resolving power in the middle, making them much better telephoto/zoom cameras, and correxpondingly lesser wide FOV cameras.

As a byproduct of that, optical quality in the corners at the same effective FOV will be much higher with the SD9/SD10 especially using wide angle lenses 35mm which are usually quite imperfect when viewed FF. CA will be effected similarly. Compare:

SD9 corners, 25mm effective, 15mm actual:

1Ds MkII corners at 28mm:
