Squeeze the trigger, don't poke it

I was reading some threads about unsharp pictures and such and thought of how my wife takes pictures with her G6. Her "trigger finger" depresses the button, then moves up, like it's bouncing off. She has pretty good luck with that G6, although she shoots with flash a lot and keeps everything in auto (her longer exposures are disasters). I wonder how her shots would look with that much movement on a 20D?

You know, we have all this technology to counter image shake from handholding. The bottom line is that some people don't hold their hands very still. A couple of tips would be to keep your elbows in towards your chest, keep both hands on the camera, hold your breath and gently squeeze the button to the camera (focusing on a minimum of movement). I'm sure our friends with firearms experience can relate to this.
