Sunset – my third attempt … (6 pics F10)

In this third attempt to capture a sunset with the F10, I think I’ve finally got the exposure right. What I want is a nice sun and a warm colorful sky.

In my first attempt, expo comp was set between -1/3 and -2/3 EV and the result was a clear foreground, a colorful sky but a “blown” sun. -1 EV was thus used in the second attempt; I got a beautiful sky but the sun was still too bright.

This was why I ended up selecting -2 EV (the lowest limit allowed by the camera) in this last attempt, which finally captured a clear nice sun and a warm colorful sky. (Hope this experience is useful to other F10 users. Please also note that color saturation was not boosted in PP).

1. @ 1/400s, ISO 80, -2 EV

2. @ 1/480s, ISO 80, -2 EV

3. @ 1/340s, ISO 80, -2 EV

4. @ 1/350s, ISO 80, -2 EV

5. @ 1/250s, ISO 80, -2 EV

6. @ 1/250s, ISO 80, -2 EV

Comments and advice much appreciated.

Best regards,
HP
