Eye-One Photo and PBC

I originally posted this on PC Tools but didn't get a response so thought this might be a better forum.

I am seriously looking at the Eye-One Photo and another monitor. I've been using the original Spyder on a 10+ year old 17" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro. I'm obviously not a pro I am using a Canon S9000 for printing and tried Profile Prism but did not have good results. My question is about this PBC thing that the Eye-One site mentions: http://na.i1color.com/index.cfm/MenuItemID/134.htm

They say: "One push button Monitor Calibration support (PBC) for Eizo CG18, CG19, CG21 and LaCie Electron b4 monitors"

What does this really do for you and should I be looking at those monitors?
Anybody familiar with this PBC function and it's usefulness?

I can get a refurb'd 19" LaCie Electron Blue IV from LaCie for $200 plus $30 for shipping. This would probably hold me for awhile until the worthwhile LCD's come down in price.

John
