Water In Camera.....HELP

i had to go to philly for my greencard interview and it was 90 degrees outside so i was carrying water with me. i had my camera in my bag and when i went into the building, i put my bottle of water in my bag and they put it through the xray machine....after leaving the building i was in a taxi and pulled out my camera and it wouldnt turn on. my water has leaked and gotten into the camera. then the LCD screen was going pink and blue and lines going across it, only the down button works on the menus, it reads the batteries as dead, even after ive charged them fully and you can see water underneath the LCD (its like white blotches).

i dont think it got into the lens or anything as i managed to take about 3 pics at the station and they turned out fine.

i checked canons warranty policy and they clearly state that faults due to water or other liquids arent covered.

what should i do? is it repairable? if so what am i looking at (price wise)to get it fixed? is there anything i can do help or make things better?

i would really REALLY appreciate any help that anyone, anywhere can give me.

thanks in advance!

frank

ps: what makes it better is that not only did i NOT get my greencard, but i had been offered a job about a week ago as a photographer and managing a camera shop
