Hi key Dog...

Increase depth of field, nose is blurred and soften light. Like the crop.

Thanks... I'll try it again tonight.... that was full frame at f/11 but focus was on the eyes.... I will try it between eye and nose today...

... I typically shoot at f/11 to f/16 in the studio, and high-key pet shooting is my business, as this example shows! But in some cases you'll get some part of the image OOF ... it isn't always a disaster.

I don't believe in fate, but I do believe in f/8!

this is a great shot. Really captures its personality. Wish I could see a bit more of the tiny body to really make the fisheye effect stand out but other than that this is perfection!

that's a fun shot...

A suggestion to the original poster... I think hi-key portraits are more beautiful when the whole subject is in the frame, surrounded by white... as in any good Apple commercial...

This is a genuine, old-fashioned Eskimo sled dog. I was covering a race with Iditorod dogs and this guy was beside the trail, woofing at his skinny cousins as they raced by. This is how working dogs looked before the snow machine took over in the 60s.
