strobe voltage

friendly reminder that while the Vivitar 285 is nondedicated and will work on any camera, Canon recommends trigger voltages of 6V or lower as being safe for their digital cameras. the Nikon D70 on the other hand i've read takes up to 200-250V

anyway this flash is listed as "your call" on this page listing for strobe voltages

and if it matters or not, i bought a Sunpak 383 for my 300D just crossing my fingers it would be a safe voltage, and i got one which i measured to be 7V. i'm not gonna fuss over 1V over so i am happily using it still
