Hey you lot.

Stop and think. Given all the faults of the D7 would you buy a car
with as many faults as the Dimage 7?

I am looking at a shot from my "highly recommended" S-10 the
people 5 feet from the camera are blue. The people six feet away
from the camera are yellow. I don't know what color the people are
who are 8 feet from the camera, because they are out of flash
range...

That sounds like a White Balance issue. This is an issue with ALL digital camera and also with slide film. So is the ease with which highlights can blow out.

Could you please point me towards the digital camera without
faults? Take your time, I will be sitting right here in Bibble
trying to get this ruddy orange cast out of the skin tones of my
D-1 pictures.

Did ypu try to WB by using the "Click Whit" button.

While you are at it, point me towards the camera without faults
that has mechanically linked zoom and focus, with 28mm on the wide
end and 7X zoom.

D1x wth a 28-200 Zoom :). Actually, the D7 doesn't have a mechanically linked focus, just the Zoom.
