Re: Cold, hard reality sets in...
Hello Andreas;
I arrived late to the party, so I don't know how everyone let their expectations get so far out of touch with reality. The positive ones will see the attributes of the camera and decide if it is the proper tool for their needs. The negative ones... well, the less said the better at this point. I feel sorry for Phil. I'm sure that he did his best on preparing the review and most people just read the "bottom line". I actually found it very positive concerning the features that were important to me - as well as informative about those that I care much less about. I certainly might never have discovered the "color space" issue on my own (apparently other reviewers didn't either). I wouldn't have had the patience (or resources) to run tests on battery consumption. Each individual bit and piece of his review has some relevance to me - it's mostly his final conclusion that I disagree with (as is my right since his conclusion only has relevence to his expectations). Anytime a new generation product arrives it "raises the bar". I feel that the standards applied to this camera were more stringent in some cases than in previous reviews (which is natural since "perfection" is a moving target). It is impossible for any reviewer to be uninfluenced by expectations. Luckily, for me anyway, it appears to be 95% of what I was expecting. I can live without the other 5% (and maybe I'll be surprised).
Regards,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,
Great statement! You should work in the marketing sector.
But anyway, this is what i call positive thinking! And that is good.
Sometimes we should remember what we want to do with our gadgets.
Taking photographs! And i think the D7 is will support this goal in
a great manner because of its rich feature set coupled with a
quality 7x zoom lens.
Kind regards,
Andreas
