300dpi Camera?

If it's not DPI - what is it then? (re:Adobe) nt

Yes... it is meaningless except for output (i.e. printing)... which
is why I suggested that perhaps the arbirary use of 180 dpi is
meerly a marketting gimmick since using 180 dpi to print an image
would result in larger output dimensions than using 300 dpi for
printing the same image (assuming the number of pixels is constant).

unfortunately 180 PPI is a bit low to produce good (photo)quality
prints ... but it is a funny concept as old versions of Adobe
Photoshop used a default value of 72DPI ( yes they erroneously
called it DPI)
so maybe camera manufacturers should just leave it out alltogether
..
