In the end I do like the 20D image better. I actually liked the Sigma image better before you processed it further.

I totally agree that the bayer will produce artifacts in the situation as you demonstrated.

One thing I noticed just now is that the 20D has much better shadow detail than the Sigma. I don't know much about the Sigma (I only shot with the Sigma for two days), but does it not handle shadow detail well? Is it because of your process?
