Testing is expensive and it's unlikely they're bin sorting. In addition, the most likely yield fallout would be dead pixels, which isn't something that the 350D owner would tolerate any more than a 20D owner. The difference is explicit engineering for reduced cost, such as the elimination of unneeded logic (due to lower readout bandwidth, etc.)
