Yeah I agree. I was speaking more towards say you subjects detail in the areas that do count, such as say the same picture of your cat taken from 3 feet away. You definetly can kill the noise easily on the background, but on the cat itself it begins to become a bit of a problem because as you reduce noise (clean it up) you also tend to clean up (reduce) detail. Stating the obvious here, but that's what I was thinking of earlier.
