Optio 30/33WR raw mode and pixel remapping is possible

There is a way to enable raw mode, read dhe ccd defect map and remap the hot pixels for Pentax Optio 33wr.

This will also work on Optio 30, and MAY work on 750Z and 43WR, and possibly other cameras, but not with the S- series, which seem to be based on different hardware/CPU/OS type.

The only software to do it right now is a linux/perl script, but it will not be too hard to add support to the nikon tool from e2500.narod.ru or another camera control software, if someone is interested.

There is a good chance that you kill your camera completely or just misallign it, lose your warranty, sleep or/and precious photos while playing with it, so be warned.

I'm not quite sure that there is real use for raw mode in a such cmall sensor point-and-shoot, but the remapping may be useful to some people with older cameras that had developed hot pixels.

The33WR raw format is already supported by dcraw, btw. Thanks, Dave.

Thre are some additional details at http://www.inet.bg/~zezo/pentax/ if you feel brave or desperate enough.
