Re: Macro shots taken with the EF18-55mm lens?

The kit lens is a good value. Other lenses are sharper, but I have taken to recommending that folks decide for themsleves. I decided to upgrade because I thought the kit lens was not sharp. Turns out, my workflow was the problem, and maybe not the lens. I haven't gone back to verify this, so I could be wrong.

Anyway, here are a couple macro shots. Unedited, uncropped. A little USM goes a long way on macros. If you want to see the edited versions, there are here (EXIF is there as well):

I think I would be happy if all I had between 18-55mm was the kit lens. I might re0install it for a better evaluation now that I have had other lenses for a while.

Hey. My first time on the boards here.

I'm seriously considering getting a Canon 300D. I would just like
to know how good the supplied lens is for macro shots (seeing as
I'll be spending a lot of time doing macro and portrait photos).

I'd be very grateful if someone could show me some
uncropped/unedited macro shots taken with the Canon 300D and it's
EF18-55mm lens.

Thanks very much,
