Sigma 15mm fisheye is an option

I shot similar project using the kit lens and a Sigma 15mm on my 300d. I also used a 75-300 IS for some detail shots.

550EX is great but if you are buying one for 20d I'd get the 580. Keep in mind when using the flash in large place to still play with exposure to get good mix of ambient and flash light. You don't want to harsh of a falloff.

If I were doing this job again I'd use the Canon 10-22 that I have now. I also bought DXO which woudl be nice to batch correct shots. When I was using the Sigma 15mm fisheye I corrected with pano tools.

I updated website weekly using iview media pro. Great tool for this. I did do some extra work with an image map in Go Live.

Had to take project site down because project is over and I'm short of space, but here is a link to a time lapse movie I made from hand held photographs.
