PICTURE of the YEAR...

Here's mine, show us yours.

Not so much a competition as a celebration of the D70 and all our
efforts to take great pictures. Maybe we can pick some best of the
best later on. Choose that one image that stands out above all the
rest and post that sucker.
I had hard time choosing, so here are top 3 I picked:

Which one do you like? Any comments?

You have to follow the path that goes right by the front of the light house keepers quarters for about a five minute walk and there they are, the stairs to the bottom of the cliff. I due have to say I was lucky to get this shot and in, as there was a heavy thunder storm rolling in as you can tell by the picture.
Split Rock Light House just across the boarder into Minnesota from
Thunder Bay, ON Canada.

This is a picture of a well-known Canadian who ran across Canada to raise money for cancer with one leg he lost to that terrible disease. However, on September 1st, after 143 days and 5,373 kilometers (3,339 miles), Terry was forced to stop running outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario because cancer had appeared in his lungs.

An entire nation was stunned and saddened. Terry passed away on June 28, 1981 at age 22.

To date, more than $360 million has been raised worldwide for cancer research in Terry's name through the annual Terry Fox Run, held across Canada and around the world.

I was very happy with the way this shot turned out.

2 Eyes,1 Camera,+ Photoshop C.S. =Anything you can dream up...Nikon D70. Sigma 28-300mm.

It's not only the subject that makes a pic beautifull
one can make a beautifull picture of an awfull subject
like this one
the subject is horrific (a fire)
but the pic is very nice

Some of us who don't get to see much snow would love to see yours!

Go on, even if it is just to contribute one of your first D70 pics before the year ends.
What a great thread....yes to the monthly tread....I can't
contribute just yet...only had my D70/28-200nikon for two weeks and
I hate taking pictures of snow....which we have lots of here in
northern Ontario...Pembroke

is this the monument in the neigbourhood of Ben Nevis in Scotland ?
It's the Commando Memorial in the Lochaber region. If you could rotate the view to the right about 45 degrees, you'd see Ben Nevis.
