Noel:

They are all striking, but my favorite is the waterfall. You used just the right shutter speed to capture the feeling of movement in the water. Beautiful!

Hi, group;

I've just posted 21 of my best images; ones that have won some kind of
recognition (mostly photo of the day sites). All were taken with Olympus
hardware but one old film shot I made back BC (Before digiCams).

Hi,
Having seen your album, I think you should turn professional.
I like the close up shot of the fruit on the kitchen table.
Very good colour saturation and light reflection.
Did you set up any king of lighting ?
Another wonderful shot is the kid studying near the table. It is a
beautiful blend of colour, lighting and natural feel.
This is not a set up shot, isn't it?

Thanks, Eric. Computer software development pays too well (and is also too interesting) for me to switch right now, but hey, you never know what tomorrow may bring!

The photo you see was shot on the smoked glass surface of our kitchen table, believe it or not. I took a lot of pictures of those tomatoes, experimenting with bouncing the in-camera flash, bouncing it off things, and without using it at all. We use GE "Enrich" incandescent lights, which give off a very white light, and the background is simply the top of one of our chairs and the wall paneling behind. The lighter area was a result of the reflection on the table of the diffused reflection of the overhead light. The dark glass on that table makes a great photo site.

It's a completely candid shot, and one my C-2500L did very well with. My son was doing his homework in the very late afternoon out in our westerly-facing sun room. He's got it rough, eh? Heh heh. :) I love the evening/morning sun for making photos come alive.

Noel, Great photos!

I like the Eagle shot. How did make the background blurry like that? it really shows the Eagle more clear.
You really give a good name for Olympus C-2500L.

Thanks for the feedback, Ashraf.

Using Adobe Photoshop's "rubber band" selection tool (looks like a lasso with corners), I carefully selected around the edge of the eagle, feathering the selection several pixels. I then inverted the selection (i.e., so the background would be selected and the eagle DEselected), and used the Gaussian Blur tool with a large radius.
