Re: 7D on Dell with 10% off ships 5 to 7 days

I haven't seen the $150 rebate offer details yet. Just heard rumors. I didn't plan on buying until later, but this Dell's 10% nailed it...

The only reason I didn't get 17-35 with it was to hopefully get the rebate...

I will look around and see if I can find details and if it allows getting the lens first and then applying the rebate. If it does, I will add 17-35 to my order from Dell, as it was not shipped yet...

Thanks for the idea!

Don't count on the form for the $150 check being in the box. You
better download it from KM and print it out yourself. Try to make
a deal with Dell to buy the lens now, pay for it, and get credit
later since the offer is likely to expire before all this

What a rollercoaster! I saved my basket yesterday with a 10%
promotion and I also wanted to apply the BigBucks code I knew I saw
somewhere in the mail recently…
So I decided to finish in the morning, just to find out that by
that time 10% promo was gone.
I called and after 15 minutes of talking to them, they refused to
honor the previous 15% promotion, as expired…
I was so upset!

Anyway, then I decided to try again and this time girl on the phone
said they could apply 24-hour grace period to my previously saved
basket and honor the promotion.
I couldn’t believe it!

They did apply 10% promotion, I also found the Dell’s October
catalog and got additional $30 off, plus free shipping, so the
total delivered to me (no sales tax in my state) is .. $1,409.10…
I decided to get the body only and then, if there is $150 coupon
from Minolta inside the box, to order 17-35 from Dell. (BTW, I
asked and the girl said they ARE Minolta’s authorizes resellers, so
I guess this way coupon should work)…

I’ve been a Minolta’s guy since Dynax 7000i, which still works
flawlessly. I have 7Xi, 7i, 7Hi, XT (with underwater casing),
G500 (present to my wife) and I am looking forward to get D7. If it
is as good as my film cameras, I will be set for a very long time,
as I am not going to jump on mega pixels hunt…

All I have to do now is to survive when my wife comes home and
finds out, but that is a different story, isn’t it?

PS HUGE thanks to klphotos for pointing to this Dell’s promo and
DanielNTX for reminding about BigBucks codes!

So DanielNTX, what becomes of the $150 KM rebate offer toward the
purchase of a KM lens? Are you giving that up or should you have
waited and then bought a lens? Looks like that's the way KM wanted
the rebate to work: First buy a camera, then buy a lens for the
dealer to get the check payable to your account. Is Dell an
"authorized" KM dealer? They must be, I think --?

Sorry, they are one time use codes only.
