Sorry to be a pest, but I'm really curious about this.
Also, where were the "victoria ii" shots taken, if you don't mind
my asking. Looks like a place I'm familiar with.
If you don't want to disclose, can you at least give me a hint? Or a city?

Look at each and every photo, and look specifically at the eyes. He captures such incredible photos because he has mastered lighting and focusing the eyes perfectly.

Also if you pay attention to the way he poses his models, he breaks the rules for most photos. Feminine poses for guys, straight on portraits, hair cut off, and NONE OF THAT MATTERS.

Look at those photos, they are incredible. I believe each of us can learn from his gallery like a school lesson.

Go out with two objectives, practice all portraits with only the eyes in mnid, get them perfect. This should not take very long, once you find the sweet spot for you lens. Then you will instinctively know it after a while, and get it perfect too! Once you have that licked, choose one lightning method and practice it until it is perfect. Learn everything you can about how you camera set responds to the lightning effects of that method. Then move on to the next method.

If all of us could do these two objectives, over the next two months, I guarantee we could match or surpass his incredible works of art. There is so much talent in this forum, it amazes and inspires me.

I can learn alot from this guy but I cant practice until I get the equipment.... which wont be for at least until next year... unless I somehow come accross some money

I can't even coordinate the decore in my bathroom. Is there hope for me to someday be as good as him?

No.

Agree with you,

but I also think that he has done a perfect job with postprocessing on all his pics,

I think postprocessing is a chapter many of the Rebel users could impove a lot on. Myself find the PS work a bit frustrating and considering a course to improve.

1) What lens(es) you mainly use 50mm f1.4 or f1.8, anything else? Apperture used ?

2) Tripod/hi-ISO - which one you use/prefere ??

3) Impression/thoughts about kit lens (if you have that) and internal flash.

I must admit that you have~very creative and astonishing work up there on you home page, I like that !
Lots of thanks in advance!
