In my case, with the optio33l, I lack of a viewfinder. But, I got used to the LCD screen very well. The ONLY issue that I may express is when I go to nightclubs or to the unlit street and try to frame people, cause the LCD is all black, but, with the practise I've got a mental idea on which will be the frame coverage, and so far so good. If you are looking for the ultimate viewfinder, SLR or DSLR is the only way to go as far as I know.
