Re: Test for A2 Grip sensor...

This may or may not help.

quoted from a previous reply:

["My two cents on the grip-sensor.

My grip-sensor on my A2 never worked either till I found out that I kept misreading the instructions:

Using the grip sensor to turn on the EVF:

In the setup menu set the following:
'EVF Auto Switch' to 'EVF Auto On'
'Grip Sensor' to 'ON'

When the viewfinder switch is in the 'A' position (the middle position not the top), the EVF will only turn on when your eye is up against it AND you are holding the grip sensor. Note the LCD display is always off in this mode.

My error was having the viewfinder switch in the EVF (top) position.

BTW - this also fixed the Full-time auto focus problem I had. In either continuous AF or with Flex Focus Point on, in single focus, the camera should refocus whenever you are holding the grip sensor. Note the camera does not do full-time AF in normal focus mode. I've not used FT AF yet but at least it now works.

I hope that yours is not really broken.

I love my A2,
Pete H. "]

Hope this may help.
Enjoy,
Pete H.

I am looking for a quick go/no-go test for the A2 Grip Sensor.

Something like a setting that would show activation when the sensor
is enabled and then touch the sensor pads.

thx
