BW or Color? pics

I'd definitely say the B/W is stronger. My question is, how do you convert it so nicely? In my opinion, you post the nicest B/W images on here. Which is why everyone has chosen B/W, if I was to guess. What actions do you take on PS? Is that even appropraite to ask?
I just accidently deleted the color photo that was posted.

X, thanks for the compliment but I must reveal one of my secrets. I downloaded a BW conversion Action for PS from this guy:
http://www.jakerlund.net/

It works fabuosly and the only thing I can take credit for is finding it, downloading it, learning how to use it properly. Good luck with it. lbg

I prefer the BW (nice shot) but I think the color could be more dramatic if you add a vignette to tone down the brightness of the arms and emphasize the face.

BW by far, but I am BW bigot. I love B/W currently only shoot B/W. Of course it's film. One of the reasons I have waited this long to move to digital (I'm shooting a N90s) is that I was not sure I would like shooting everything in color and converting. Also, wasn't sure I would be happy with the results. Anyway, your work proves you can have excellent BW results, now just waiting for Nikon to get a D100 replacement on the market and I'll be jumping to digital.

Thanks

Thanks so much for pointing me back to that website. You know, I had that site in my favorites from one of the last threads about B/W. ( http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=10403941 ) I wasn't familar with running actions, but when you reiterated to me that you were using the actions from that website, it made me go and learn. Now, I too am having fun converting some of my old pics to B/W! Thanks for drilling it back into my head. And thanks for the great image contributions to the board!
