D70 Aerial Shots
Sep 20, 2004
Hello All,
Me and a buddy of mine rented a plane to do some arial test shots with the D70 to determine what kind of lenses/techniques would work best inside a cessna.
It looks like a 70-200mm would be more than sufficient for the job though my 28-75mm Tamron did a great job as well. These shots below were shot with the Sigma 70-300mm APO SU II & Tamron 28-75mm f2.8. The Tamron showed the best results. The Sigma did ok, but the greens were off and the pictures weren't as sharp as I'd like.
I should have tried my 24-120mm VR but I had no time - I wanted to test the tamron & sigma exclusively.
Anyone who could offer any other tips while shooting out of a cessna (either through plexi glass or open window) would be great.
The 3rd one down was the Sigma, the rest are the Tamron:
Enjoy!

Vaporware no more: the much-speculated-about Zeiss ZX1 has arrived. Combining a 37MP full-frame sensor, minimalist controls and Lightroom Mobile built in, it's a refreshing – if a bit quirky – take on the smartphone-meets-camera concept.
