The visit to the Japanese Garden was done in weather similar to what we had for the Paris trip pictures posted earlier. However, this time we saw the overcast and light rain as GREAT weather! This is a magnificant Japanese Garden.

Here is one of the images taken that morning. Yes, it looks like it should be rotated a CCW a bit but the trees appear to have forgotten how to agree on vertical.

I figure that bumping your own thread is not nearly as irritating as having to see the same, silly (make that lazy/stupid) questions over and over and over. For instance:

(1) Why is the frame count wrong on my compact flash?
(2) Why can't I use the LCD to frame a shot?
(3) Why are there two different file-naming conventions?
(4) When will the D70 price be reduced?
(5) Should I buy a D70?
(6) Woohoo, I ordered my D70!
(7) Yahoo! My D70 arrived!

(8) Tell me how to do something that I just don't have time to discover for myself by reading the manual.

There. I feel better.

Flame away!

That settles it! I haven't been here in 20 years and I need to go there, and in choice weather, like you did LOL!

Now I want to see the garden in Spring and Fall. The brochure shows some beautiful colors.

Thanks for commenting, Frank.

Did you have to clone out all the other visitors?

Also, nicely done on the bump justification. I may have
to plagerize....

We almost had the garden to ourselves that morning. The overcast and light showers kept people away. And I have been there on beautiful days and the crowds can be huge.

Thanks for viewing these, Roman.

I was hoping you would see this post since I knew you lived in the area (a few months ago you posted some shots of the garden at my request).

My wife and I always go to the Japanese Garden when we pass through Portland on our way to the coast. We'll be back next year, too.

I live here in Hillsboro, and I visit the gardens often....you'll
find a few of my shots on my web site.

Nice shot....nice newer prespective than the usual bridge shot.

Beautiful! Maybe I'll head out this weekend and see what fall colors are going on. Things are starting to turn around here.

I totally agree with you!

But then this one of the few fora that has no FAQ or guideline in the starting section, so people just fire at will (so to speak) ...

Overcast is the way to go when there. We went on a sunny day and there is just too much contrast. Blown highlights galore. I did get a few good ones in full-shade areas.
