I've been reading this forum for a while and have not heard much talk about what people do for hard copies of images.
I've tried printing myself (Canon S9000 inkjet), but it seems to cost a lot due to the high cost of paper and especially inks. Therefore I thought I would try sending them away. I was recommended a company called ProAm Imaging (www.proamimaging.com) and so sent off a CD with some pictures from a friends wedding.
I downloaded their Agfa printer profile and converted my images prior to sending. In order to keep their costs down (e.g. 20p for a 7"x5"), ProAm do no tweaks to the levels etc just print them directly, they expect the photographer to have done the processing already. I was really pleased with the results as they came back exactly as they appeared on the screen (maybe dumb luck!). They also came back quickly and well packaged.
I've searched the web for other companies that do a similar service for that sort of money but can't find any. Does anyone else know of similar companies (apart from Jessops!) and what did they think of the results?
Regards, Jason
