    One problem I didn't mention was the wife doesn't really enjoy standing around while I take pictures for any length of time. Or the fact I might want to come back at a different time of the day for better lighting. She enjoys a fast pace must see all vacation. I get that but it's hard to carry...

    Good point. I have left the country multiple times and alway taken a spare camera. The last two trips I really missed the Z9 so I decided I'm taking it this time.

    It was your comment that kept me thinking about the simple fact the processor was running in the background. I was steady focusing all over my yard and checking all kinds of settings in the menu. So every time I pressed the shutter button the camera timed out for 5 min. Here was your comment...
