    Very confused about macro lenses

    Question about very old lenses & the 7d body

    I have 2 old Maxxum lenses that I bought with my 9xi about 13 years ago. One is an AF 28-105 and the other an AF100-300. They both work well with the 7D I bought a couple of months ago.

    A2 max CF card size & vs D70/300D?

    I have a Magicstor 2.2gb microdrive (from ComputerGiants.com at $170) in my A2 and it works just fine. At slow speed, 64, and raw setting, the picture quality is as good as any of the regular 6mp out there.

    Protective filter for A2?

    I bought a regular Bower UV filter which does not affect the image quality at all. As long as the filter is a good quality you shouldn't have a problem.

    Minolta ACT-100 arrived from B&H today!

    I bought a Bower 0.5 wide angle lens for my A2 and without knowing there was a firmware update available, took some some test shots which came out fine.

    I think it is all in the eye of the beholder. Like everything else you need to have patience and learn how to use the camera properly...this is not a simple point and shoot $ 250.00 camera and you won't get the same images as with 35mm film until you experiment and learn how to get the results...
