    Event / Wedding Pricing Structure?

I have a friend who told me he had to get a pilot's license to get insured. A bit different in that you don't need flight hours in a plane, but a fair amount of learning. He is a commercial photographer by trade.

help me save this hpz3100 printer

I have a HPz3100 printer that has sat turned off for a few years. Don't know if it is all clogged up or what. So far I get the expired ink cartridge message but also I get the message that 4 of the ink cartridges need to be reseated. I pull them and reinstall and the LED shows all cartridges in...

need suggestions for insurance coverage for part-time photographer

I wasn't suggesting that you use your homeowners insurance. I was saying you should call them up and ask them about a business policy. My insurance agent handles all my needs. I have a full-time studio and building which is company insured as well as my rental properties and my auto insurance...

need suggestions for insurance coverage for part-time photographer

Why don't you check with your homeowners insurance? I don't know how PPA works, but I haven't had the best experience with them is matters where you actually need them to perform. I'd feel safer with a regular insurance carrier.

    Your Wedding for 100.00

I guess when you are that cheap a tip is nice to have. I guess you have a full time job because I can't see how you support a family on what you must be earning. Don't your boys miss being with their dad because he is out shooting every weekend?

    D7100 facial recognition?

I would be using the 2 columns on the right, a row of 5 and a row of 3 when the camera is rotated to a vertical crop. I would be manually selecting one of those focus spots and putting it on the person's eyes. I guess the question at this point as far as sensitivity to focus on that pie is...

    Celebrate!

Maybe it's a people problem, or it could be a price problem. I looked at your site and see you have really cheap prices. Sometimes price over rules any personality problems. I don't know your income and expenses, but I know at your prices with my studio overhead I would probably out of...

    D7100 facial recognition?

Thanks for the answer. I currently shoot with a canon 5d mk11. Because I shoot with the camera rotated 90° as I photograph a lot of people individually. Canon has very focusing spots and I tend to use the three that are on the right-hand side when you hold the camera in a normal manner. Those...

    D7100 facial recognition?

Does the D7100 have facial recognition for the autofocus and does it seek the closest eye? Also will it work on normal shooting or does live preview need to be on? Is it pretty accurate? I plan to use it with lenses that are close to wide open or close to it like the 50mm 1.4 Thanks in advance...

a few questions of the 5dmk11 compared to the 1ds mk11

I have the 5dmk11 but have never used a 1ds. Hopefully someone can answer these questions. 1. I believe that on the 5dmk11 if you set the camera to spot meter it is in the center. If you use the outside focusing spots the spot meter will not follow them, but contine to meter in the center On...

files are on cf card , but I can't see them to download

So I have a 4 gb compact flash card that seemed fine in my 5d mk11. Previewed them on the screen as I shot. About 3.1 gb full. When I went to dl to my Mac the card came up but no images came up. The card shows 879mb available but does not show the files. Reinsert the card back into the camera...

Lease a studio or work out of home

You might want to look at your business plan. Your prices are very cheap and the cost of the studio might well put you out of business before long. You said you might spend $200 a month for rent, but what about costs for utilities, equipment repairs and replacement, AND insurance! You now...
