Epson V500 or V700 Scanners - Scanning old photographs

Help with NEC 2690 purchase
All monitors need to be calibrated so that the colors you see on the screen are accurate. Otherwise you are making coor changes using erroneous visual information. Even after calibration, cheap, nasty, monitors will not give you accurate colors, and are not reliable for photo reproduction... -

Lightroom Catalogs on multiple computers

How does Lightroom handle conflicts between catalogs? I have a master catalog of all my images, but often create a separate catalog for a large job. If I export edits from the job catalog to XMP files, and later make changes to in the master catalog, will there not be a conflict with the job... -

Older 15" Macbook Pro
You may find that the older laptop has a slower CD/DVD burner. If you burn a lot of DVDs, that may be something to consider. I, too, opted for a previous generation MBP. The cost saving was too hard to resist. Download a free copy of Mactracker to compare stats between models. David -- -

Error code -61 when copying HD's
In the end, I just gave up on MS-Dos Fat32. I copied, without any difficulty whatsoever, even for 1 Terabyte drives, from the NTFS drives to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). . . I just let them run overnight. Yes I know I won't be able to read these drives on my PC, but at this point I am fairly... -
